MOORE, SCHUSTER NAMED RACING VICE PRESIDENTS
Indiana’s Two Racing General Managers to Continue Overseeing Day-to-Day Property-Level Operations
INDIANAPOLIS - May 15, 2013 – Indianapolis-based Centaur Holdings, LLC announced Wednesday the appointment of Hoosier Park Racing & Casino’s general manager of racing, Rick Moore, and Indiana Downs’ general manager of racing, Jon Schuster, to the position of vice president and general manager of racing for their respective properties. Moore and Schuster will continue to report directly to Centaur’s vice president of racing, Brian Elmore, and oversee horse racing operations at Centaur’s two racetrack casino properties in Anderson and Shelbyville, Ind.
Moore, an integral member of Hoosier Park’s opening team in 1994, oversaw racing operations and expansions for nearly 14 years before taking a management position with MainSource Bank in Anderson, Ind. Under his Hoosier Park tenure, Moore led the creation and expansion of three off-track betting facilities, the addition of dual breed horse racing, and introduced multiple premier signature racing events. Moore rejoined Hoosier Park as general manager of racing in February of this year.
A native of Brazil, Ind., Schuster’s career in the horse racing industry spans several decades and two states. Before joining Indiana Downs as the general manager of racing in 2002, Schuster served as Pari-Mutuel Manager and Simulcast Coordinator at Penn National Race Course in Grantville, Pa. Schuster holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Arizona and is a graduate of the University of Arizona racetrack management program.
“Since Indiana Downs was acquired by Centaur in February, Rick and Jon have worked together to implement one breed, one track and make company-wide improvements to our racing product,” said Elmore. “Their combined knowledge and passion for the sport of horse racing will continue to provide dynamic, fan-friendly racing entertainment experiences for our guests.”
